About Me
With a Master’s in Creative Writing, an endorsement in Special Education, an Educational Specialist degree in Special Education, and a PhD in Literature, I have expertise in designing and scaffolding curriculum and instruction as well as planning, developing, and monitoring evidence-based strategic academic/emotional interventions. I’ve taught in public and private schools and colleges, and served middle school, high school, and university students. Board Certified in Special Education and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals, I draw on extensive experience working as a classroom teacher and Learning Specialist to assess student needs and devise realistic and implementable strategic intervention plans to ease the learning journey. As a parent, I know how hard it is to watch a child struggle, which informs my compassionate, empathetic, pragmatic, and affirmative approach when helping twice exceptional students.
